Bristol Hospice Kite Festival & Memorial

Using kites as a memorial is a tradition found in many cultures — a symbolic, personal, and communal way to remember those we love.

Each year on the second Saturday in May, Bristol Hospice Hood River hosts the annual Kite Festival & Memorial. Against the stunning Hood River backdrop, colossal kites fill the sky as professional flyers showcase their artistry, creating a sight reminiscent of world-renowned kite festivals.

Memorial Service

At the heart of the day, we honor those we have served who have passed in the previous year — a special moment for reflection and remembrance.

“I lift this kite to heaven’s light,
And with it, let my grief take flight.”

The Bristol Hospice Kite Festival & Memorial offers something for everyone — a day of beauty, remembrance, and community.
