A Message from Bristol Hospice regarding (COVID-19)

The coronavirus (COVID 19) outbreak has brought all of us together in unexpected ways. During these difficult and uncertain times it is important for us to work together to stop the spread of the COVID 19 virus.
As a provider of end of life care in many communities Bristol Hospice is committed to caring for our patients, families, caregivers, and staff by providing key information regarding the virus and ways all of us can help slow the spread of the virus. During this time Bristol Hospice continues to care for patients who may be impacted by the COVID 19 virus. As always, we are here to provide care in all setting that are patients reside and do so in alignment with our value of “Embracing a Reverence for Life”.
Bristol Hospice employees receive ongoing education about COVID 19 and adequate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to protect you, themselves and others in alignment with the Center for Disease Control guidelines, state and local resources.

A Message from Bristol Hospice regarding (COVID-19)

Bristol Hospice’s immediate response to the COVID crisis began with the formation of a COVID-19 Response Committee. The committee is a multi-disciplinary group that monitors the CDC, state and local resources to glean the most current facts regarding the pandemic. The goal being to provide early, accurate and effective communication and work to enhance the safety of our employees, our patients, and families. The Response Committee guides the COVID-19 response and works to maintain compliance with public health and safety recommendations.

Health Screening:

Our hospice employees receive ongoing education regarding COVID-19 self-monitoring and reporting of any symptoms of COVID-19 immediately. We consistently work with our patients and families to screen prior to every visit and upon entering the home or facility to keep our patients and employees safe.

Use of personal protective equipment

All clinicians are trained on the use of personal protective equipment and supplied with the necessary equipment to care for patients safely.

Telehealth technology and distance visits

Processes and strategies have been implemented to provide quality patient care while reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Individualization of the hospice plan of care may include utilization of technology when traditional in person visits are restricted by COVID-19.
